Heidi Phillips is an experimental filmmaker based in Winnipeg, Canada. Phillips constantly sifts and searches through old films and found footage, lifting imagery and sound to recycle into her own layered and loosely structured narrative works. She works one frame at a time with 16mm film and hand processes the results. Her work has been screened in such festivals as Transmediale, Berlin and Images, Toronto. She completed her MFA from Transart Institute in Austria in August of 2008. Her next exhibition, Revival is both a dream and a nightmare, will show at Ace Art in Winnipeg, March 2009.
